The Wonders of Tingko Beach Resort - Alcoy, Cebu

This trip was taken last year 2012 but since I started to love blogging my gateways, I decided to make one for this.

Considering one of my most unforgettable escapades though last option na lng ang pag.anhi still I made it to a point that i'll be enjoying the moment with the rest of the gang..  The orginal plan was to go to Camotes Island, then it was changed going to Medillen then again, na.change na pd until we, as in we, my station mates decided to go somewhere near and a pocket-friendly place that is still perfect for the summer, which is the Tingko Beach Resort in Alcoy, Cebu. It is located somewhere in South.

Tingko Beach has a long white-sand shore with crystal blue water that suits anyone's taste for summer.

 Transportation:

Going to Alcoy is as easy as 1+1=2.  You can catch a bus in Cebu South  Terminal(beside E-mall) going to Alcoy. Actually, dghan mn mgshagit2x ddto so just ask unsa nga bus ang una mularga.  The biyahe will only take 2-3hrs including unloadling and loading of passengers.  Regular fare at the time was 117.00pesos then since we looked-like students ky cute2x mn mi, we told the condoctor nga SP mi. But mura ra wlay epek ang pgka SP ky ang gipangayo nga plite ky 116.00pesos..hahaha..meaning peso ra ang discount.  Just inform the condoctor nga sa Tingko Beach lng hunong. Well-known nmn jd na nga beach resort ddto so it is like .01% nga masaag mu. hahaha....
Once you got off from the bus, there are two entrance going to the beach from the road, public entrance(for free) and the private one(with fee for 10pesos). hahaha...so dapat mgbantay ka and try to read signs jd. Reading and Comprehension is a must!

Rooms and Cottages:

There is nothing to worry if you for got to bring your camping tent or you don't have one since daghan rooms available didto.  Its just that, if summer fully-booked jd tanan.(for those who wanted mg.over night) If day trip lng, cottages and table for minimal fees are available. In our case, since it was my first time to be out of town i don't have an idea unsaon pghangyo...puro lang ku pa-cute2x didto....hahaha...someone approached us and offer his tent(kanang atop lng walay bong2x) for 1000(wala ka kuyapi??)....wla dayon ku nikagat though gikapoy ku sa biyahe nia init pa jd pag.abot ku udto na...i asked for inclusions. nakig negotiate ko nia...ng.pa-cute2x ming tanan until we have agreed : 1 tent, 2 tables, 6 monoblock chairs, 1 teheras(folding bed) and free use of their CR ug pwde nku mg.build sa akong tent for free. Funny kay free use of cr pero you need to pay for the water...hahaha...(naisahan ako doon ah :D)

my tent is only good for 1 pero believe it or not, 3 persons ang naigo when the night came......

Fun in the Beach:

Once you got to the beach, you can't say no to the crystal blue water nga mura ug ngdala ug "come here" moves. I don't have a gifted complexion, so normally i don't go to beaches if init or maligo ug udtong tutuk...but mura ug nakalimot ku, ditso timpasaw oi..hahaha
Since it has a large wide area, you can do whatever you want to do.  You can play volleyball (ball is for rent), run around like dogs, langoy2x ug snorkle2x pd.

if you want to see the entire Tingko Beach Resort, a motorboat is available for hire.  I forgot the price since we got it for FREE.  we sailed, witnessed and  amazed how nice the resort is.

if you are in the beach, dili pwede wala'y jumpshot...hahaha
nice to be a kid once in awhile...
i doubt if someone can resist not to have a quick plunge in to the beach
 "pa-ugnat sa kusog"

as sun rises, the moon sets......

an epic sunrise scene from Tingko Beach @_@.....

so much of the fun under the sun, i almost forgot about the FOOD.  it is a must to bring your own food(bawn) though naa daghan tindahan pero mdyo muhilak imung bulsa...so pra maka tipid, just bring a lot of foods.

As the saying goes, "ang hindi lumingon sa pinanggagalingan ay hindi makakarating sa paroroonan". meaning its time to hit the road going home...hahaha...

a day full of fun and adventure and thrill.  A summer to remember with good friends, indeed!

more to come.....for sure!

Unplanned Gateaway to Olanggo Island

That feeling when all of your friends are busy packing their things, planning their trip then there you are working kay sila nka.file ug leave unya ikaw WALA. That feeling pushed me and my friend to have an overnight stay in an island where none of us knew about the place, Olanggo Island which is a small island  located in Cebu, actually duol sya sa Mactan Island, atbang jd diay. :p

Travel:

If you are from Cebu City, you can ride V-hire from SM to Gaisano Mactan(25pesos) then from Gaisano Mactan (multicab) to Soong (don't know the exact name of the place basta eskina padong portofino(10pesos)).  It is time for you to have a quick sea trip. hehehe! It will only take about 15-20 minutes going to Olanggo Island from Portofino Wharf. Fare ranges from 10-12 pesos. Pumpboats are available every 30 minutes interval.
Once you got to Olanggo Wharf, you can take motorcycles and tell the driver where you want to go.  Kami since it was our first time and we don't even have any idea how the place looks like and where to go, we just rented a tricycle then let the driver take us in a place where we can stay just for a night. And it was a funny experience though.  Murag halos na libot namu ang usa ka.islahan jd but we didn't find a nice and relaxing place until we decided to call my ever dearest TL and ask for help. hahaha...Tagam!

Accommodation:

We ended up staying in Isla Bonita Inn.  Aside from murag well-known sila, dghan pod sila ug mga rooms and duol ra sd xa sa beach. walking distance ra jd xa. infact naa ra diay sa ilang likod. For single bed, it cost 300 then for double (aircon na) it is 600 excluding breakfast. So you must bring foods with you and water/drinks.

we stayed in an air-conditioned room ky super kapoy sa biyahe unya ang ending wala na.follow ang last-minute itinerary ky nkatulog man. hahaha
Note: it would be nice if naa jd itinerary pra dili sayang ang oras ug ma-enjoy jd ang place :)

Fun and Leisure:

You can do a lot of things in Olanggo and see the beauty of the island.  You can visit Shal-lala beach resort and be amazed with the white sand shore line. Entrance is for free and cottages are available for minimal fee.

If ganahan mu mag.suroy2x by sea, you can try Kayaking. For just 150, whole day nka mag.bugsay2x.But make sure kamao ka mu.bugsay kay kusog ang current if padong high tide.

If trip sad ninyo ang padako ug bagtak, bicycles are also available since gamay ra mn ang isla, pwede ra kaau mg bike2x padong sa Bird's Sanctuary. Sorry wlay pictures sa sanctuary ky na excite mi sa kadaghan sa bird(pinabali..hahaha)
Note: according sa care taker, season2x dw ang pg.visit sa mga birds didto and make sure low tide ing adto ninyo pra sure naa dghan birds. TT___TT

There's a lot more waiting for you in Olanggo Island.  Talima Water Park, The Fish Sanctuary, Floating Restaurant in Caoy and a lot more. Wala lang pics ky excited gihapon mi ana nga time. hahahah

You gotta see it for yourself...hahaha

Daghan ug palpak but it was indeed FUN and I want to try it again.  I want to travel to a place that I don't have any idea what awaits me there.  hahaha...I am a certified aventurer! PAK (mugna-mugna lang ug new word ang show)^______^

ampingmuch :)

Durano EcoSpring Park

It was my first trip with my sisters who happened spent their vacation with me here in Cebu.  It was a well-planned trip actually.  To kick-off our summer vacation, me and my close friend Janice decided to check out Durano Eco Park and Spring which is located at the North part of Cebu.  Funny to think that we invited some of our close friends but ang ending, ako ug duha naku ka sisters ug si Janice ug Charles, her boyfriend ang nalahos. hahaha....

Since summer, we decided nga mugikan ug sayo ky for sure daghan jd ang mangadto pd. Cold spring mn gd xa so perfect kaau for summer. I have read a lot of reviews about the place but still super excited lang gihapon ku to see how beautiful the place is.

Approximately mga 2hrs jd ang biyahe dala ng mghunong2x ky mo-pick up pasahero ang driver. If you are from Cebu City, you can take the bus at the North Bus terminal going to Carmen.  Pwede sd ka mg mini bus from White Gold. Ang fare ky 35 pesos lang. Nia, hunong sa Carmen Public Market, from there dghan na ug habal-habal nga motor.  Fare range to 20-25, dependi sa driver. hahaha...

The moment we got to the place, grabi mkabungol ang kamingaw.  The only sound nga amung nadungog is "the sound of nature" char! Only the running water ug twit-twit sa mga bird.

:mao ni ang second level pool.

super ka.bugnaw ang tubig. we intended to stay sa second level ky if adto mi sa lawm, crowded na. dghan mga taw and feel nku dghan mangihi. hahahaha

mao ni ang first level pool.  i think, this is designed for kids ky medyo mabaw lng xa but its more clean than the last level. hahaha

i so love nature!

this is the third and fourth level pools. imagine, 8ft ang ka.lawmon....OKAY ra mu??hahaha(for those who don't know how to swim.

falls-falls lng ky dili tinood nga falls.

It was a nice trip then.  We had so much fun. langoy-langoy, kaon-kaon, ug uban pa.

next trip na pd puhon :)
